Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking a Senior Aviation Planner with proven experience in airport projects to join our Aviation team!

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, collaborative, and innovative problem-solver with a passion for the aviation industry and airports who wants to build a dynamic career in Aviation Planning with a nationally recognized company. This position allows for professional growth and leadership through challenging and rewarding projects for a variety of aviation-related clients and services.

Responsibilities

    Project management for complex airport planning studies
  • Research, analysis, and creation of aviation planning documents including but limited to:
    • Airport Layout Plans (ALPs)
    • Airside planning analyses and design (gate and parking layouts)
    • Master planning
    • Terminal planning (management of redevelopment projects and specific task orders)
  • Assist the aviation leads with business development and provide technical expertise

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning or related field from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of experience in Aviation Planning projects (master plans, design drawings, airside/airspace analysis, airport facility planning)
  • Experience with monitoring scope, schedule, and budget for task orders
  • Ability to coordinate with other VHB service lines to position for projects at key airports

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with FAA and State/local agencies (PANYNJ, DOT)
  • AAAE CM, or other planning -related certifications
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with business development and proposal writing
  • Ability to deliver technical innovation and bring extraordinary value to our aviation clients
  • Active in the Aviation industry by being a thought leader and involved in service organizations
  • Actively participate in developing aviation business opportunities throughout the United States
  • Experience mentoring aviation planning staff
  • Two or more years of experience in Airport Master Planning

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $95,000 - 120,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
