Aston Carter Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator in New York, New York

Our client is seeking a remote Accounts Payable Lead to join their team!

  • Manage accounts payable processes, including data entry, invoice management, and vendor setup.

  • Serve as the main contact for vendor communications and payment issues.

  • Handle month-end close processes and account reconciliations.

  • Monitor internal controls and maintain records.

  • Reconcile credit card transactions and process payments.

  • Process employee reimbursements.

  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in invoice processing.

  • Develop and improve accounts payable policies and procedures.

  • Engage with staff to resolve payment inquiries and discrepancies.

  • Prepare financial reports and support external audits.

  • File annual 1099s with the IRS.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in a senior role.

  • Experience in both nonprofit and private sector accounting is a plus.

  • Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets.

  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and handle a fast-paced environment.
