Marsh & McLennan Re/Insurance Data Engineering and Reporting Lead in New York, New York

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Data Engineering team at Guy Carpenter. This role will be based in the New York City office.As a Re/Insurance Data Engineering and Reporting Lead, you will play a critical role in implementing the target data architecture for the organization, interacting with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality, efficiency, reliability, security, and availability of data.We will count on you to:Lead the data engineering and reporting efforts to migrate our on-premise data assets to the Azure cloud.Oversee technology activities to deliver meaningful, data-driven capabilities aligned with business strategies, optimizing data solutions for scalability, security, and performance.Develop, implement, and deploy data products using Azure Databricks and Power BI to support business intelligence dashboards and reporting needs.Provide subject matter expertise in data processing and exploration leveraging Azure Databricks.Build best-in-class ETL/ELT solutions for effective data ingestion and transformation, implementing and managing DBT workflows to ensure data quality and consistency.Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement scalable and maintainable data models while ensuring adherence to data governance and compliance standards.Identify and address performance bottlenecks in dashboards, reports, data models and queries. Implement models and strategies to optimize data consumption by business stakeholdersProduce design documentation and responsible for solution delivery.Define development best practices and standards, enforced through code reviews.What you need to have:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.10+ years in the data and analytics space with extensive experience delivering enhanced data and analytics capabilities.8+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing data consumption solutions using Azure cloud offerings, including ADLS, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, and Power BI.Expertise in modern data architecture patterns and advanced SQL, preferably using DBT or similar tools. Expertise in data modeling for reporting and analytics.5+ years of experience supporting Power BI reporting as an enterprise platform and working within the reinsurance domain.5+ years working within the reinsurance domain is necessary for success.Experience migrating on-premises data, reporting, and analytics assets to cloud technologies, along with a solid understanding of DevOps, Git integration, and CI/CD pipelines.What makes you stand out:Proficiency in Python, Spark, and JSON.Knowledge of information and cloud security.Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC) is a global leader in risk, strategy and people, advising clients in 130 countries across four businesses: Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer and Oliver Wyman. Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.The applicable base salary range for this role is $136,200 to $272,400.The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
