About the role

We are seeking an experienced leader to serve as Global Account lead for a dedicated Industrial client. This high-impact role offers an opportunity to shape the future of project delivery for one of our most significant enterprise clients. The candidate will lead a global team, driving strategic account growth, fostering innovation, and ensuring exceptional client service across all regions.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will have significant experience in building strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, developing, and executing growth-oriented account strategies, and leading high performing global teams.

While the Project Management Director, Industrial Construction will directly report to the Group Accounts Director to ensure account strategies are powered by sector expertise and aligned with industry trends, close coordination, collaboration and day-to-day account performance reporting is also a big part of this role to ensure integration of services as required by the client. The selected candidate should reside in the Eastern Time Zone but candidates in other locations will be considered.

This job is part of the Project Management function. They are responsible for the management of projects from initiation through completion.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee cross-functional projects and programs from start to finish. Initiate the development of a program charter and integrated timeline, ensuring all functions remain on schedule and issues are resolved for successful completion. Manage relationships with internal, external, and vendor partners to support these projects.

  • Leverage a robust understanding of multiple disciplines and key performance drivers to identify and solve complex operational and organizational problems, utilizing appropriate resources. Negotiate with partners to reach common goals while being guided by the organization's business plans.

  • Responsible for the financial performance of programs and accounts, including budgeting, forecasting, billing, accounts receivable, expense monitoring, staffing, and full P&L to EBITDA before all allocations.

  • Interact regularly with clients to establish and achieve goals, developing action plans to address variances and responding to their needs and concerns.

  • Manage and lead project management staff, ensuring a thorough understanding and implementation of operations, policies, and procedures. Identify performance tracking, mentoring, training needs, and motivate direct reports. Advise throughout all phases of project management, including procurement, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closeout.

  • Drive business growth by maintaining and developing existing relationships, integrating CBRE business lines, and cross-selling services in the assigned market or client account to achieve strategic objectives. Ensure compliance with corporate governance policies in contract procurement, negotiation, execution, administration, and closeout.

  • Identify project risks, lead constructability reviews, and develop risk mitigation plans. Cultivate relationships with industry associates and professional organizations. Regularly report the status of projects and programs, summarizing complex issues succinctly while serving as a point of contact for clients and escalation for staffing or delivery issues.

  • Assign global resources to projects, facilitate regular status meetings, and assist in training staff to support client needs while reporting project statuses to client senior management.

  • Identify and solve complex operational problems using appropriate resources. Improve existing methods, processes, and standards within your discipline.

  • Manage teams delivering a global portfolio of projects, ensuring staff understanding of policies and procedures. Track performance and motivate direct reports.

  • Focus on business growth with client and maintain existing relationships, integrating with other CBRE business lines. Ensure accurate and compliant contract procurement, negotiation, and administration. Identify risks, lead reviews, and develop mitigation plans.

  • Report on global portfolio project statuses succinctly, serving as a point of contact for clients and addressing any delivery issues. Assign resources effectively and facilitate regular project status meetings. Train staff and help develop processes to support client needs. Report global projects statuses to client senior management.

What You’ll Need:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 12-15 years of relevant experience, including 5 or more years of global account management (market or sector P&L) within the professional services industry, ideally with a focus on project management or related consulting services. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Preferable accreditation and/or certifications with industry organizations, such as the Project Management Institute, LEED AP, PMP, and/or CCM designation(s) preferred.

  • A demonstrable track record of successfully growing and managing large, complex global accounts (or significant P&L’s), exceeding revenue targets, and building strong client relationships.

  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies, best practices, and industry trends.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels, across diverse cultures and geographies. Ability to exchange sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and solution issues.

  • Strong commercial acumen, financial literacy, and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and execute winning account strategies.

  • In-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles and the ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions.

  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.

  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.

  • In-depth knowledge of various computer software including Microsoft Office products. Examples include MS Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, Smartsheet etc.

  • Expert organizational skills with an unrivaled inquisitive mindset.

Turner & Townsend carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $180,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $240,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on Turner & Townsend’s applicable benefit program.
