City of New York Project Development Coordinator for Queens in New York, New York

Job Description

ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT FULL-TIME ANNUALLY PAID PARKS EMPLOYEES

Major Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and judgement, assist the Borough Commissioner and Chief of Staff with administrative functions.

  • Assist with special Events including the creation of invitations and fliers, community and elected official outreach, program and speech preparation.

  • Manage special projects including coordination, note taking, follow up, and filing.

  • Open, draft, track, distribute, finalize and respond to correspondence.

  • Research, write, and create presentations, reports and speeches.

  • Prepare briefings, attend, take notes, and follow up on Elected Official meetings such as Town Halls.

  • Compile information, conduct research, prepare memoranda, and proofread for accuracy.

  • Coordinate, participate, and follow up in meetings and initiatives related to community outreach and partner groups.

  • Assist with managing databases, information technology, Telecommunication, and record retention as needed.

  • Answer phones and help schedule appointments and meetings when necessary for the Borough Commissioner and Chief of Staff.

Qualifications

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

  2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or

  3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
