Wells Fargo Principal Engineer - AIOps & SRE in NEW YORK, New York
About this role:
The Technology for the Chief Operating Office (TCOO) organization, provides technology services for the Chief Operating Office. This includes operations, control executives, strategic execution, business continuity and resiliency, data solutions and services, regulatory relations, customer experience, enterprise shared services, supply chain management, and the corporate properties group. TCOO provides technology solutions and manages application portfolios for these groups to support modernization and optimization.
Within TCOO we are seeking a Principal Engineer who enjoys and thrives on solving complex problems through innovation impacting change at scale in a diverse environment. You will join a focused team of engineers introducing and advancing Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps) and SRE discipline across several hundred applications and multiple vertical lines of business supporting the entire firm. The team will drive technology transformation and adoption of AIOps & SRE aligned enterprise capabilities and products, launch new tooling enablement, automate away complex issues and integrate with the latest technology.
In this role, you will:
Instantiate AIOPs capabilities at Wells Fargo Technology for the Chief Operating Office (TCOO) igniting the practice, principles, and culture leading by example. Assist in training skilled engineers by growing the practice within TCOO and partnering with peer platform embedded SRE teams
Introduce and mature the adoption of enterprise capabilities, tools, and innovation improving availability in a multi-cloud ecosystem by evolving observability, monitoring, logging, synthetic monitoring and chaos engineering
Evolve AIOPS, introducing self-healing and autonomic capabilities solving for complex operational and systemic issues with precision including, automating processes, leveraging Process Automation and AI/ML to improve availability of products we provide to customers
Automate key SRE metrics and IT Service Operations processes including customer impact, availability of critical business flows, SLO/SLI adherence, error budget, and reduce time to recovery
Share support responsibilities for critical applications and customer journeys including leading technical resolution of high priority incidents with cross-functional partners, remediation of issues, conducting of blameless post mortems, root cause analysis and introduce continuous improvement solving problems once and for all with the goal of no repeats
Closely collaborate with TCOO teams and other peer organizations to influence and drive AIOps and SRE aligned capability
Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
5+ years of AIOps experience
7+ years of FinTech experience
3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies
3 + years of experience supporting enterprise level complex applications and platforms in Production
5 + years of designing and building complex observability solutions leveraging industry standard toolset and or custom built solutions
5+ years working with configuration and monitoring technologies such as Ansible, Grafana, Elastic, Splunk, Prometheus.
3+ years working with Spark, Tensorflow, Kafka and Flink
Desired Qualifications:
A Masters degree or higher in related field
Experience with design, implementation and governance with Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing or Machine Learning Architecture
Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban
Prod-level deployment of AIOps solutions and demonstrated ability to integrate AI/ML solutions into IT operations workflows.
Executive level business acumen in technology/industry best practices and emerging trends
Strong executive presence, facilitation skills, drive for results, attention to quality and detail, and a synergetic attitude
Experience motivating and influencing groups or individuals across organizational boundaries to gain trust and confidence to make timely decisions
Excellent communications, interpersonal, and presentations skills utilizing PowerPoint across technical and non-technical groups
Job Expectations:
- Ability to travel up to 20%
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
