Neuberger Berman Performance Specialist Associate in New York, New York

Private Equity is a rapidly growing group within Neuberger Berman with over $100 billion of investor commitments across our private equity fund of funds, secondary investments, co-investment and direct investment areas. The Alternatives Finance Group is responsible for all aspects of accounting, operations, treasury, valuation and tax as it relates to this platform. In addition to these core competencies the team acts in a partnership capacity with the various businesses and related areas on new mandates, structuring and limited partner interface.

The Alternatives Finance Group is looking to hire a Performance Specialist who will be responsible for performance calculation, tracking and monitoring as it relates to the Private Equity business Funds, Mandates and Separate Accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Calculation of Fund, Separate Account and Mandate performance across the Private Equity platform

  • Calculation of portfolio level performance and assistance in model portfolio construction

  • Calculations include but not limited to, IRR, MOIC, DPI, TPVI, rates of return and time series calculations

  • Analytics and attribution analysis as it relates to all metrics in question

  • Work closely with various investment teams, marketing and senior leadership on performance reporting ad-hoc analysis

  • Work closely with accounting/finance teams to review and validate cash flow inputs to performance models

  • Work closely with marketing team members to provide performance details for RFPs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Strong understanding of accounting theory and fund accounting and financial reporting

  • 3+ years accounting/finance/valuation experience; CPA and/or CFA a plus, but not required

  • Technical understanding of aforementioned metrics

  • Practical understanding of asset class and markets including private equity, private credit and other bespoke private equity transactions

  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.

  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus

  • Ability to act and operate independently, entrepreneurial mindset

  • High degree of proficiency in Excel

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $105,000-$135,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
