Overview
Serve as a payroll subject matter expert. Compile, analyze and document issues on payroll and related fiscal activities in order to identify systemic issues or problems and propose solutions. Implement internal control procedures to review and approve payroll expenditures. Assess complexity of payroll issues and determine resolutions; make recommendations to senior department management based on knowledge of payroll; investigate payroll discrepancies and find resolution with appropriate University offices to resolve problem transactions. Analyze and reconcile per pay period and liability remittances. Keep abreast of all federal and state payroll tax law changes. Serve as tier 2 escalation for employee payroll questions.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Required Experience:
3+ years related payroll experience including detailed reconciliation experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
3+ years Prior Workday Time and Absence Experience, ServiceNow Experience
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent analytical, problem solving, knowledge of payroll principles and best practices. Advanced working knowledge of Excel. General knowledge of time and attendance as it relates to payroll processing and general knowledge of income tax treatment and its application to payroll.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $77,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
