Robert Half Network Engineer in New York, New York

Description We are in the process of recruiting a Network Engineer in NEW YORK, New York. This role involves providing expert remote and on-site support while ensuring optimal server, workstation, and network functionality. You will be working in an industry that is highly dependent on solid network infrastructure and will be pivotal in installing and configuring applications and operating systems, troubleshooting user issues, and implementing effective solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the efficient installation and configuration of applications and operating systems on customer hardware

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that users may encounter

• Implement effective solutions to user problems after identifying their sources

• Manage and maintain servers, firewalls, switches, and related equipment, devices, and systems

• Work closely with the Project Manager to successfully implement projects

• Review the scope of work and perform project implementation

• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation for all projects and support incidents

• Ensure optimal server, workstation, and network functionality through regular maintenance and support

• Provide expert remote and on-site server/workstation/network support.

• Show proficiency in working with server operating systems (Windows 2016-2022) and managing firewalls (Cisco, SonicWALL, Meraki, Fortinet) and switches (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Unifi) Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Network Engineer role or similar

• Proficiency in working with Cisco Routers is required

• Familiarity with Meraki software and hardware is necessary

• SonicWall expertise is a must

• Should have demonstrable experience with Aruba networking solutions

• Proficiency in using ConnectWise for IT service management is necessary

• Must possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and stakeholders

• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

• A relevant bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field is preferred

• Relevant certifications (such as CCNA, CCNP) are advantageous

• Must have a solid understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware

• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices is necessary

• A deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols is required
