Simon & Schuster is seeking an experienced marketing manager to join the Simon Element and Marysue Rucci Books team. This is a wonderful opportunity to work across imprints, spearheading high-level campaigns for blockbuster titles from perennial bestsellers to new voices alike across genres, including culinary and lifestyle, business, inspiration, and select literary and commercial fiction.

Experience with brand authors and platform-driven publications is a plus, as is a passion for subjects Simon Element specializes in, such as cooking & entertaining, health & wellness, business & productivity, relationships & personal development. Candidates with a firm understanding of platforms such as Goodreads, Edelweiss, NetGalley, Bookscan, Amazon Vendor Central, and prospecting and social listening tools will be prioritized.

The right candidate will be able to work independently on some projects and in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders on other projects; initiate and execute multitouch marketing campaigns; analyze sales data and trends; create and deploy editorial and visual content; monitor and consult on social media content; and be confident and comfortable presenting at meetings.The ideal candidate will have experience with project management and organization within creative projects and multi-player author teams, and embraces problem solving, innovation and the ever-changing marketing opportunities with social media and digital strategy.

Role Requirements & Responsibilities:

Minimum 3 years experience in title marketing and book publishing.

Campaign strategy for 8-10 titles per season, including advertising, social media strategy, author communications, in-house vertical cooperation, collaborating with publicity teams and editors, and creative presentation.

Contributing to and consistently optimizing marketing and social media best practices.

Excellent presentation and communication skills with both internal teams and external partners (authors/agents/third party collaborators, etc.).

Contributing to, maintaining, and developing relationships with influencers, brands, and audience partners.

Digital advertising and promotion expertise.

Ability to prioritize projects and meet dynamic deadlines.

Creative problem-solving and solutions-oriented mindset.

Proactive and motivated leaderships skills and ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

Strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills.

Passion for books and marketing strategy.

Fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Fluency in Canva and basic visual design a plus.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
