Avangrid Service Company Manager - Technical Projects in New York, New York

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $130,367-$153,374

JOB SUMMARY:

This position manages the business technical aspects of building the NY Integrated Energy Data Resource ("IEDR") platform solution, incorporating associated Data Access Framework ("DAF") Order requirements, for NYSEG and RG&E. The project team will develop, design, implement, test and commission (Phase I prior to July 2023 and Phase II prior to December 2026) RGE & NYSEG's technology solution of the NY IEDR statewide data sharing platform as defined in the IEDR Order to Case #20-M-0082.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Technical Projects with an initial focus in NY for NYSEG and RG&E to execute on all matters of the IEDR Order. Supports strategic direction and initiates action plans and assignments to accomplish project goals, working with various business unit team members, and functional leaders across the enterprise. This position may require occasional travel as needed to support project team deliverables and team engagement, project management responsibilities and for general team priorities. Supports the Senior Manager for all project management requirements which may include Capital, OpEx budgets, securing approvals, ensuring accounting requirements (e.g. accruals, variance reporting, etc.) procurement and purchasing approvals to enable the Company technical platform solution.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage all aspects of the Data Strategy, Governance and Processes Office and serve as the Business Technical lead in the NY IEDR implementation team for NYSEG and RG&E with a focus on key Data Governance skills and executing through collaboration, coordination, decision making, problem solving and issue resolution.
Responsible to support and execute on all project management business requirements including Capital, OpEx budgets including securing approvals, ensuring accounting requirements (e.g. accruals, variance reporting, etc.) procurement and purchasing approvals to enable the Company technical platform solution.
Act as the internal leadership "face" for the Business technical requirements advocating appropriate positions.
Responsible for resourcing IEDR implementation project, financial planning, performance of KPI tracking, risk management reporting support, setting quality control standards, and tracking implementation of the same.
Support all deliverables (e.g., regulatory filings, written comments, implementation plans) coming out of IEDR and DAF external working teams with a focus on JU collaboration, coordination, decision making, problem solving and issue resolution in alignment with the NYSEG and RG&E technical solution and working with internal Regulatory, cyber & data security, OSG, IT, Customer Service representatives to meet all requirements.
Support resolution of critical path and strategic issues including but not limited to data assessments, sourcing, use case development and streaming of encrypted and secure data and data migrations is completed in a timely manner while collaborating with key Avangrid personnel such as data scientists, data engineers and data architects to ensure streamlined implementation of services, profiling source information and setting characteristics, and executing big data processes like parsing, filtering, text connotation, and enrichment.
Supports the transfer of customer data to the IEDR implementation team while maintaining PII and protection customer information that is not intended to be shared.
Supports project objectives attaining cost benefits, successful operational integration, including change management and required business process integration and successful integration of associated technologies including technology execution, alignment, and sustainability.
Supports and provides briefings and status reports on a regular basis for AVANGRID and Iberdrola executives, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders.
Coordinates efforts of business cross-functional project teams. Holds regular program/project status meetings and ensures successful transition, including change management and required business process integration to appropriate business areas, as needed.
Supports and prepares business cases, regulatory documents, stakeholder management and communications plans, partnership formation requirements, use case development and manages successful implementation, tracking and reporting. Monitors progress against plans and reports to senior management as required.

Education & Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
Minimum 7 years working in a regulated utility environment with direct experience in business project management and execution with a strong financial background.
Experience leading enterprise multi-utility, cross-functional, and cross-cultural teams in a gas and electric utility.
Knowledge and experience navigating the procurement process.
Experience and understanding of establishing project accounting according to guidelines to ensure cost recovery through accurate reporting.
Experience with SAP for financial budgeting, forecasting, and tracking
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Project, Visio, SharePoint, and Teams).
Experience with managing Customer related data, such as billing information and data, metering data, Customer Contract details, etc.

Prefered:

A Change Management, PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma Certification(s) is a plus.
Knowledge of Information Technology design, architecture, and data virtualization a plus
