Manager, Production Operations – NewsNation NY

NewsNation is a national news cable network currently reaching 75 million television households across the United States. The network is owned and operated by Nexstar Media Group (NXST).

NewsNation is looking for an experienced Production Operations Manager to lead all NewsNation production crewing and scheduling needs for NYC & /Hamptons control rooms and studios. The Manager, Production Operations works with the Director, Broadcast Operations & Manager, Broadcast Operations, on monthly programming plans and schedules to fulfill all network requests, pre & post productions, and guest needs in all day parts. This position may function as a department representative at key operational meetings, communicating back to senior department executives. Essential to this role is a very strong scheduling & logistics background.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

· With oversight by the Director, Broadcast Operations, develop and execute the plan for all studio and control room production schedules. Ensure that the plans and crew schedules are balanced and adhere to financial guidelines.

· Analytical projects and presentations -- related to NewsNation scheduling as assigned.

· Work with payroll and HR on onboarding requests as needed.

Qualifications:

· 8+ years of related industry experience

· Must be comfortable working with automated scheduling programs.

· Excellent writing skills

· Very strong organizational skills as well as a strong sense of priority and effective decision-making skills

· BA/BS Degree with courses in communication highly desirable

· Intermediate MS Excel and PowerPoint skills a plus.

· Prior experience and understanding of television planning and scheduling is preferred.

· Comfortable working with finance & payroll

· Must be able to handle several tasks simultaneously while ensuring accuracy under severe time constraints.

· Excellent follow-through and be a strong communicator.

· Experienced working with and managing union employees in a collective bargaining environment.

· A good person that treats employees well and holds people up so they can meet or exceed the Nexstar standards.

· Ability to work flexible hours is necessary.

Salary Range $145,00-159,650
