Capital One's Card Decisioning Platforms are at the forefront of innovation in creating breakthrough capabilities in our lending ecosystem that benefit hundreds of millions of Americans and fuel growth company-wide. To create focus and ownership for critical business processes, we are building an Acquisitions Service team with the mission to operate an industry-leading Acquisitions Experience for Capital One Card. We will oversee Card's Acquisition agenda and be the bridge between our reusable platform capabilities and the business units who leverage these capabilities to provide seamless end-to-end experiences to Capital One's customers.

We are seeking Product Managers who can work horizontally across platforms & organizations to solve complex multi-dimensional problems and orchestrate the build of end-to-end innovative intelligent experiences to drive growth in Card. As a horizontal Product Manager, you will be a thought leader with a strategic multidisciplinary mindset, sitting at the interface of business and technology. You will work backwards from the customer to influence and drive transformation in our platform strategy, unlocking a flywheel of value creation for our customers and platform.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Developing a systematic, end-of-end understanding of our Decisioning Platform and surrounding ecosystems to anticipate how changes in one part of system interplay with the rest

  • Systematically collaborate with our internal business unit customers of Decisioning Platforms to understand their strategic priorities and external customer needs

  • Collaborating with product and engineering teams across platforms to create a continuous feedback loop to improve our acquisitions service capabilities and move to self-serve

  • Understanding long term roadmaps across the decisioning ecosystem and feeding that into scoping/prioritization of business initiatives to create efficiencies

  • Lead problem definition and solution design of complex acquisitions initiatives by collaborating with capability product/engineering leads and architecture to create extensible solutions

  • Identifying the full set of resources needed for delivery of refined initiatives and driving prioritization and trade-off conversations as necessary

  • Partnering with Ops, Legal/Compliance, Data governance and Risk to ensure customer experiences and changes meet regulatory standards.

  • Leading development, execution and validation of end-to-end testing scenario tests to launch new initiatives in a well-managed way

We're looking for candidates who are

  • Intellectually curious and show a high level of comfort with ambiguity and complexity

  • Structured problem solvers who can use technical aptitude, communication skills, and a focus on business outcomes to align a broad set of stakeholders on a solution

  • Highly fungible and can operate in a rapidly changing environment with a sense of urgency in delivering outcomes

  • Comfortable at thinking big and connecting the dots to align our platform direction with strategic goals of our business segments

  • Exceptional at developing and nurturing relationships with internal customers and platform partners

  • Adept at presenting and influencing across multiple levels & functions in an organization

  • Willing to go deep into system design conversations and contribute to Card's architectural direction

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of product management experience or at least 3 years of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

  • MBA or Master's degree

  • 2+ years of experience in Agile product management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.


New York City: $163,300 - $186,400 for Product Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
