Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Lead, Immigration in New York, New York
Perform pre-file screening, preparation, and submission of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications including H-1B, TN, E-3, O-1, and U.S. Permanent Residency. Assist with efforts to develop, review and revise relevant documentation, policy and procedures, assist with training when system or operational changes are introduced, handle escalated issues from employees, leadership, outside counsel, and government agencies, recommend action on HR-related issues; and conduct regular audits of MSK files and data against government records and regulatory best practices. Coordinate and liaise with managers, employees, and prospective employees to ensure proper intake for petitions; set up employee profiles in case management system; oversee case calendar and reporting functions for process threshold points, submission deadlines, and visa holder expiration dates; and liaise with Payroll department to ensure accurate immigration status records in Workday. Coordinate and liaise with managers, employees, prospective employees and outside counsel to ensure that all paperwork for immigration and visa processing are complete, timely and accurate; prepare and follow up on the Labor Condition Applications with the US Department of Labor to ensure the timely filing of visa petitions; and organize and maintain accurate immigration billing records. Serve as liaison with Federal immigration authorities during the processing and follow up of visa petitions and consular appointments, and Department of Homeland Security site visits to MSK, as well as liaising with affiliated hospitals in New York with house staff on rotation at MSK. Stay informed of all relevant US immigration laws, regulations, trends, and industry best practices through conferences, legal manuals, Government and Federal web sites, SHRM and networking; then evaluate departmental impact of changes to law, regulations and requirements and implement changes to ensure compliance.Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, History, or English, plus five years of progressive post-Bachelor’s experience in the position offered or as Immigration Coordinator, Senior Associate, Immigration, Business Immigration Analyst, or Paralegal.**At least 2 years of the required experience must have included: performing pre-file screening, preparation, and submission of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications including H-1B, TN, E-3, and U.S. Permanent Residency within a healthcare setting; ensuring all paperwork for immigration and visa processing are complete, timely and accurate; preparing Labor Condition Applications; staying informed of all relevant US immigration laws, regulations and trends; evaluating impact of changes to law, regulations and requirements on organization, and implementing changes to ensure continued compliance. This role entails hybrid work, with time split between working in our New York, NY office and flexibility to telecommute from the worker’s home in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT). #LI-DNI
Minimum Salary: 116,000 Maximum Salary: 161,000 Salary Unit: Yearly
