Overview

Ensure all laboratories, experiments and research activities at the College of Dentistry's Department of Biomaterials and Biomimetics adhere to OSHA and Article 28 safety protocols and policies. Develop Spore Testing procedures and protocols; train clinic personnel on proper testing procedures. Determine and ensure that laboratories meet experiment specifications and determine when equipment needs to be recalibrated. Instruct faculty and students in laboratory experimentation techniques, protocols, and preparation of thesis proposals. Interpret data for researchers. Analyze and prepare reports for the College's Office of Quality Assurance and Compliance.



Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in a natural science that includes course work in biology, chemistry, or related a physical science, and

Preferred Education:
M.S. or M.D. in Biology, Chemistry, or related physical science.

Required Experience:
At least 3 years' proven experience in laboratory oversight and/or experimentation, including immunological assays. Teaching experience in lab and environmental protocols.

Preferred Experience:
5 years of experience supervising operations for multiple laboratories.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate, develop, implement and interpret policies and procedures. Ability to supervise and ensure safety of multiple laboratories.



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $82,692.19. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
