Citigroup Issue Management Program Lead, Director in New York, New York

The Program Management Principal is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Recognized subject matter expert within one area. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Is an acknowledged authority both within and outside area of expertise. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication is typically required. Provides advanced judgment and conducts in-depth quantitative or qualitative analysis to solve problems and develop new, innovative solutions. Required to think beyond existing solutions, assumptions or current knowledge of sophisticated areas. Significant impact on a function and/or the business through making decisions that determine technical approaches and strategies for the area.

This role will be part of the Services Central Governance & Controls team organization responsible for the issue management program, IQA and IQC activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the issue quality review program ensuring compliance with global Issue Management Procedure

  • Responsible for leading Services Issue Quality Assurance (IQA) program ensuring adherence with Global Issue Management Procedure.

  • Lead Services IQA engagement across the full lifecycle of high severity issue remediations and key remediation programs.

  • Responsible for issue quality control (IQC) program ensuring adherence with Global Issue Management Procedure.

  • Lead Services IQC engagement across the full lifecycle of high severity issue remediations and key remediation programs.

  • Lead issue management program providing oversight over the issue inventory, ensuring interaction with other functions/businesses where required for effective remediation and management reporting.

  • Act as a key resource for Services Issue owners to advise and support on the effective design and implementation of key control remediations.

  • Report and/or escalate to issue owners and Services senior management, including relevant governance forums, on the progress and effectiveness of control remediations.

  • Partner with colleagues to build highly effective relationships across the Services business to ensure remediation design and implementation is effectively project managed and executed in co-ordination with second and third lines.

  • Define and implement Services level procedures and guidelines and lead relevant issue management control forum ensuring appropriate governance model.

  • Provide specialist advice and guidance for program within the remit.

  • Drive communication, guidance and training of new requirements.

  • Participate in relevant control forums and steering committees representing the business.

  • Conduct thematic analysis on issue management portfolio, IQA and IQC process to identify common themes, risks and process improvement opportunities..

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in financial services, operational risk management, audit, compliance or other control function.

  • Familiarity with issue management program is key

  • Ability to manage through influence to drive global program across a global organization (e.g. management in the absence of reporting lines)

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills required.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$200,000.00 - $300,000.00
