Touro University iOS Mobile App Development Instructor (Adjunct) in New York, New York

Overview

Touro University’s Graduate School of Technology is seeking a dedicated and experienced instructor to teach our iOS Mobile App Development course in the M.A. Web and Multimedia Design program. In this role, you will guide students in building upon their existing app development knowledge, focusing on crafting innovative applications for iPhones and iPads. The course emphasizes contemporary production practices, design principles, and effective marketing strategies. Students will work collaboratively in groups to design, develop, and test mobile applications on the iOS platform, gaining valuable hands-on experience and insights into the app development industry. Responsibilities

  • Expertise in iOS Development Frameworks: Proficiency in utilizing iOS development frameworks, including SwiftUI, UIKit, Core Data, Core Animation, and Core Location to create feature-rich applications.

  • Competence with Swift Programming Language: Strong knowledge and expertise in Swift, the primary programming language for iOS app development, to write efficient, clean, and maintainable code.

  • Knowledge of Interface Design and User Experience (UX): Understanding of iOS interface design guidelines and user experience principles to create intuitive and visually appealing mobile applications.

  • Understanding of UX/UI Trends: Keeping up to date with the latest trends and best practices in iOS app design and user interface, incorporating relevant and modern design elements into applications.

  • Ability to Conduct App Testing and Debugging: Ability to use debugging tools and conduct thorough testing to identify and resolve issues, ensuring a robust and error-free application.

  • Knowledge of App Deployment: Understanding of the iOS app submission process to the App Store, provisioning profiles, code signing, and app distribution.

  • Multi-device Adaptability: Proficient in creating applications that function seamlessly across various iOS devices and screen sizes, optimizing for both iPhone and iPad.

  • Passion for Collaborative Development: Experience working in a collaborative environment, including group projects and team-based development, to deliver high-quality iOS applications.

  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently, ensuring a smooth development and deployment process.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience

  • Possession of an advanced degree (master’s degree) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Extensive experience and proficiency in iOS app development.

  • Demonstrated teaching experience in iOS app development or related courses.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • A strong dedication to the success and growth of students.

  • Ability to cater to a diverse student body, recognizing and addressing various learning styles, backgrounds, and levels of prior knowledge.

Travel

  • Travel to campus 1-2 times a week

Maximum Salary

USD $5,000.00/Sem

Minimum Salary

USD $5,000.00/Sem
