Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic HR Business Partner to join our People Team. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional negotiation skills, HR expertise, and strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

· Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals.

· Drive talent initiatives, including succession planning, performance management, and employee development.

· Responsible for organizational change initiatives, ensuring effective communication and smooth transitions.

· Support to workforce planning efforts to ensure the organization has the right talent to meet its current and future needs.

· Understand the business, its strategy, and the competitive landscape to provide HR solutions that drive business success.

· Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends and develop strategies to improve organizational performance.

· Develop and implement employee relations strategies that foster a positive work environment.

· Provide guidance and support to management and employees on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.

· Conduct investigations into employee complaints and grievances, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.

· Assist in the negotiation of labor contracts, partner with labor unions and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree; Law degree desirable.

· 5+ years experience with US & Canadian employment law required, global experience a plus.

· Proven experience in employee relations and labor relations within a unionized environment.

· Strong background in the creative industry, particularly publishing or media.

· Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

· Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective HR strategies.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

· Strong business acumen and analytical skills.

The salary for this position is $110,000-$125,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
