ManpowerGroup HR Payroll Analyst in New York, New York

Our client, a higher education institution located in New York City, is seeking an HR Payroll Analyst to join their team. As an HR Payroll Analyst, you will be part of the Office of Human Resources supporting payroll functions, and report to the Director of Human Resources.. The ideal candidate will have analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: HR Payroll Analyst-Higher Education

Location: New York, New York (Onsite 5 days)

Duration : 11/4/24 thru 8/31/25

Pay Range: $28-$36 per hour

What's the Job?

  • Interpret HR data and provide insights on employee trends, benefits, and payroll

  • Ensure accuracy in payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance with university policies

  • Effectively work with non-expert union employees and non-union exempt employees, managers, and external organizations

  • Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems). Experience with Workday system (or ability to learn payroll systems quickly)

  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, especially during busy payroll cycles or audit periods

What's Needed?

  • 2-5 years of experience working in HR or payroll, preferably in an academic or nonprofit setting

  • Familiarity with university policies, academic appointments, or working with faculty/staff in an educational institution

  • Hands-on experience managing payroll processes and using payroll software such as Workday

  • Understanding of labor laws, tax regulations, and benefits-related compliance at both state and federal levels

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field required
