Organization Overview
The Comparative Bioscience Center provides a comprehensive program of animal care in support of the University's in vivo research. The goal of our staff is to provide investigators with the highest level of research support at the lowest cost while ensuring the welfare of the animals used in the research. The center is fully accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).
Overview
Reporting to the Facility Operations Supervisor, the Environmental Waste Coordinator is responsible for organizing and coordinating the disposal of the biological, pathological and chemical waste.
Responsibilities
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Organizing and coordinating the disposal of the biological, pathological and chemical waste; sorting and disposal of recyclable trash;
Daily maintenance tasks for the waste collection and waste holding areas;
Processing soiled autoclaved caging, water bottles and waste;
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
HS Diploma / GED is required.
Must have good communication skills, familiar with standard operating procedures, basic knowledge of various hazardous agents.
Must be able to push or pull weight bearing wheeled carts weighing approximately 500 lbs. and the lifting capability of approximately 50 lbs.
Requirements are subject to change as a result of facility needs.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on various factors, including but not limited to organizational budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
