FirstService Residential Energy Procurement Coordinator in New York, New York
FirstService Energy is the energy management and advisory subsidiary of FirstService Residential. As the trusted energy advisor, FirstService Energy aims to improve energy efficiency, lower energy costs, and reduce carbon emissions for all FirstService Residential managed properties. Through energy data analysis and on-site assessments, FirstService Energy is able to identify and evaluate opportunities for energy efficiency improvements. FirstService Energy manages one of the largest energy procurement programs for multifamily buildings which provides our properties with significant annual energy savings.
Job Overview
This role will support the procurement division and report to the director of data and build upon the program already established for FirstService Residential buildings. The procurement team works directly and indirectly with condominium, cooperative, and rental building stakeholders to advise on strategies to reduce utility costs. In this role, you will support the procurement teams on presales research and analysis as well as various presentation and other sales preparation needs. The optimal candidate will have a result-orientated approach, analytical skill set, and strong financial acumen. This position is hybrid and available in any of the the following locations: New York City, NY, Chicago, IL, Dallas, Texas, Ft. Worth, Texas, or Ontario, Canada.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
Pull utility data from various software's and utilities websites, analyze and formalize into a deliverable for the specialists and directors.
Verify new deals have been entered into CRM on a weekly basis. Provide an update to the team based on a weekly gap analysis for the sales team to rectify.
Support the development and execution of a comprehensive energy and utilities strategy for FirstService Residential managed associations.
Work collaboratively with FirstService Energy team to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities.
Analyze trends and regulations in the energy space to proactively identify opportunities that benefit FirstService Residential.
Assist the team with developing procurement specific communications.
Assist and manage the tax refund process as directed by team.
Conduct audits and research of customers utility profiles as needed.
Monitor and resolve utility issues as they arise.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Assist with presales presentation, research, and analysis as directed.
Assist with various ad hoc projects or requests as needed to support individual or larger team goals and deadlines.
Additional Duties:
Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards.
Anticipate needs across the company and manage department resources to provide timely and reliable service to internal customers; prioritize and communicate when workload or requests for support exceed departmental capacity
Manage in a no surprises manner; proactively communicate financial issues to leaders
Safeguard the company’s assets

Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) required- Economics/Engineering/Business.
Be a passionate self-starter
Ability to cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, or customers
Support the procurement and data team with various tasks and projects as needed.
1-2 years in data analysis, accounting, or energy related field.
The ability to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects with minimal direction.
Excellent speaking-listening-writing skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of excel and data analytics.
The following are preferred qualifications, but not required;
Experience with power and gas transaction or contracting experience in US (ERCOT and or PJM experience is a plus)

Compensation:
$ 50000 - $ 55000 / year
