Position Summary

The Marketing Governance and Operations Director will be responsible for the governance and operational efficiency of the marketing department. This role will serve as the primary contact for all activities and functions related to marketing governance, policies, processes, operational workflows, audit and compliance, vendor management, budgeting, planning and financial management, technology optimization and collaboration with marketing stakeholders and business partners.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Operations & Process Management

  • In partnership with Marketing stakeholders, and in compliance with company policies and regulations, identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This could involve streamlining workflows, automating repetitive tasks or introducing new procedures to improve team collaboration.
  • Design and build KPIs related to marketing productivity, resource capacity, project status, asset approvals and others, as needed.
  • Continually monitor performance against KPI's and drive for ongoing efficiencies of marketing processes and workflows to maximize effectiveness.
  • Oversee operational effectiveness of marketing technology. In partnership with Marketing Platform leader, effectively implement and continually refine workflows in Workfront, Digital Asset Management and Sales Enablement platforms.
  • Ensure that governance and operational platforms, such as Workfront workflow and approval tool, are operating efficiently through ongoing reporting and sampling. Serve as Marketing Platform leader backup.
  • Lead the vendor management and sourcing process for Marketing, assist with the PO process, budgeting, invoicing, track spending, contract expiration and negotiation, etc.
  • Oversee departmental budget; allocate funding in partnership with marketing stakeholders, track expenses, produce reports for leadership / colleagues, collaborate with enterprise finance team on strategy and planning.
Marketing Governance, Compliance & Regulatory Review Process & Documentation
  • Provide governance, documentation and maintenance of all marketing processes, operational policies, job aids, etc. Update and revise policies, procedures, and processes in compliance with company review cadence and as business needs dictate.
  • Create job aids and provide training to marketing team, as needed, to ensure adherence to Marketing processes and procedures and track deviations. Recommend modifications to processes and procedures when deemed necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, Legal, Compliance, Bank Verticals, and IT to ensure marketing is aligned with overall business and financial objectives, while also complying with company policies and regulations.
  • Maintain all relevant communications and content documentation, and lead content responses to audits and reviews; ensure compliance with company-wide, departmental, and regulatory policies and requirements, along with, financial, marketing, regulatory, legal, operational, product, projects, and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure compliance of marketing collateral and procedures by leading, monitoring and tracking processes related to and asset updates. Ensure stakeholders (such as agencies, designers, creative leads, program managers, business partners, etc.) are trained on compliance requirements, processes, procedures and other business and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures. This includes ongoing reporting, conducting periodic mock audits, training and monitoring of marketing procedures, collateral and content requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ marketing experience in a regulated industry preferably Financial Services
  • Ability to break down complex processes and procedures and document/communicate to cross-functional internal stakeholders and partners
  • Experience mapping workflows and processes and recommending/implementing opportunities for operational improvements
  • Technically savvy with experience in designing and implementing operational improvements across marketing / operational platforms.
  • Experienced in managing $5M+ budgets including tracking allocations, expense monitoring, multi-year planning, reporting, and tracking.
  • Knowledge of the marketing campaign process from creative to performance measurement
  • Experience with vendor management processes and budgeting

  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated project management experience
  • Experience communicating (verbal, written, visual) effectively across business, technical legal and compliance teams
  • Ability to navigate competing priorities and manage ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to set and measure KPI's to demonstrate progress and improvements
  • Detail-oriented and commitment to ensuring compliance with governance policies and regulations.
  • Ability to affect change, influence and persuade, train and foster change
  • Experience with Workfront, content management systems (such as Bynder), sales enablement platforms, project management platforms, budgeting tools, etc., a plus
The estimated salary range for this position is $130,000USD to $146,000USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
