Role: Data Governance Application Lead

Location: NYC, NY -10013 (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)

Position type: 7+ months with high possibility of extension/Conversion as FTE

Pay range: $63?- $70/hr on W2

Job description:

The Data Governance Application Lead is a position in Chief Data Office (CDO) within the Chief Operating Office (COO) organization. The mandate of COO is to lead the Transformation efforts of the firm to deliver client excellence, improved operating efficiency and returns. As part of COO, the CDO organization is responsible for an enterprise-wide effort to transform and strengthen the firm’s data, modernize data infrastructure while simplifying the data operating model and executing the strategic priorities for the firm. The CDO defines and enforces data-related policies and standards across Client and equips the firm with the tools required to take ownership and accountability for data governance and management. The CDO comprises of four functional groups: Business Aligned Data Leads, Core Data Delivery, Data Enablers, and Data Functions & Partners.

This position will support the COO & CBNA CDO to adopt a data culture and data-driven mindset; drive compliance with policy/standards and adoption of data governance capabilities; drive implementation of the CDGP & CDGS; provide input into and provide metrics that measure progress and risk reduction; have the management responsibility of people, budget, and planning.

Responsibilities

Data Strategy

• Implement data governance and operating model for COO

• Assess the data governance needs for COO by partnering with the leaders and other stakeholders to establish the structure and resource model to support the work.

• Coordinate COO initiatives with the data governance program including Consent Order prioritization.

• Drive compliance with policies/standards (e.g., data quality) and adoption of data governance capabilities

• Ensure effective project management for COO to deliver its portion of the data transformation program.

• Define, control, and track progress of data initiatives (e.g., use cases specific to COO)

• Provide input into and provide metrics that measure progress and risk reduction for decision making on a regular basis.

• Data Stakeholder Engagement

• Inspire COO to adopt a data culture and data-driven mindset

• Drive alignment and escalation resolution across COO

Experience

• 10+ years overall business management experience in a complex, financial organization, with particular focus in data space highly preferred.

• 5-10 years in data and technology, at least 5 in data management

• 5+ years in finance industry

• 5+ years in executive / strategy role

• Bachelor's/University degree, master’s degree preferred.

Skills

• Strong data and technological knowledge, covering recent topics such data governance, data domains

• Strong leadership experience in a Business Unit/Function role

• Familiarity with and ability to influence the Business Unit/Function being supported

• Proven ability to execute large complex change programs

• Strong project management leadership

• Analytical ability to develop and implement new concepts and tools

Education

• Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

• Data Quality/Data Management Certification preferred.
