Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst. In this role, the successful candidate supports the Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in providing financial services to the Department across all funding types, including Grants, Contracts, Operating, FGP, Discretionary, Affiliations, Endowments, and Tuition. Prepares regular financial updates for Department Leadership, Principal Investigators, and other key stakeholders. Reports directly to the Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Prepares budget reports, financial statements, variance analyses, and other internal/external reporting in compliance with GAAP, NYULH and sponsor regulations, to assist with operational and strategic planning.
    • Provides reliable, friendly, and effective customer service to Department Leadership/Senior Administration, NYULH Finance, and department faculty.
    • Applies policies, procedures, and systems to ensure appropriate internal controls and to maximize operational efficiency.
    • Initiates and troubleshoots Accounts Payable/Receivable transactions and transfers across department.
    • Monitors and submits transactions for personnel allocations across accounts, and reviews payroll reports to confirm allocations against departmental budgets.
    • Coordinates with Research Administration and Sponsored Research Operations to monitor sponsored program budgets and resolve issues identified from reports, in line with grant reporting requirements.
    • Provides ad-hoc financial analysis for special projects as directed by Department Leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree, preferably in Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business, Accounting, or related discipline.
Demonstrated proficiency with finance/accounting principles and Microsoft Excel for data analysis, fiscal management, and reporting.
Skill and experience working independently and in a team, managing several projects simultaneously.
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of experience in the Finance, Healthcare, Academic, or Nonprofit fields, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft HCM, and PeopleSoft Business Intelligence.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in taking initiative and ownership of work product and necessary tasks.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $63,700.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
