Concrete Enforcement Engineering Intern Job Description

About the Team

The Concrete Enforcement Unit performs engineering reviews and field response for concrete related projects.

NOTE: This summer internship is for up to 13 weeks, starting from the first day of the internship and ending no later than September 5, 2025. Interns are expected to work 35 hours per week in person.

Position Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Professional Engineer, the intern will:

  • Assist with Code Compliance structural engineering reviews focusing on concrete construction.

  • Review structural drawings with an emphasis on concrete construction.

  • Assist with site visits and inspections.

  • Draft violation reports and prepare evidence packets.

  • Conduct Code research and building/application research.

  • Be introduced to fundamental structural analysis concepts.

  • Provide graphic support for various presentations and internal documents.

  • Participate in administrative tasks.

  • Assist in writing technical reports.

Major/ Field of Study

  • Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field

  • Related fields

  • Completion of Civil Engineering coursework

Qualifications

As of June of the Program year the prospective interne must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).

NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June - August each year.
