Position Summary
The Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC) at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic candidate to join our team as a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Nir Uriel and the research team on a variety of research projects in the realm of advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation. As part of a dynamic research environment, the ideal candidate should be adaptable to working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment and interviewing of participants for investigator-initiated trials.
- Conduct follow-up visits with participants, and track participant outcomes.
- Generate research questions, gather data from the electronic medical record and/or clinical registries.
- Perform data entry and biostatistical analyses of clinical data.
- Provide regular updates/reports on progress and challenges.
- Lead the day-to-day management of research project.
- Participate as necessary in other related projects.
- Maintain study records.
- Provide oversight and disbursement of participant stipends.
- Prepare scientific abstracts and article manuscripts for submission to academic conferences and journals.
- Coordinate IRB materials.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Science or equivalent in education, training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of university policies and procedures.
Other Requirements
- Must have strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic business software applications required (i.e., Microsoft Office and Excel).
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Python, R, SPSS, or SAS.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and faculty members at all levels.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Participation in the medical surveillance program:
- Contact with patients and/or human research subjects
- Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
