Amazon Business Intelligence Engineer II, S&OP Automation in New York, New York

Description

The Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) team plays a pivotal role in forecasting inventory flows across various countries. We manage everything from what Amazon receives from vendors and sellers to what it ships from our Fulfillment Centers (FCs). Our responsibilities also include measuring S&OP performance and driving continuous improvement in planning processes for local networks, with a focus on reliability, speed, cost, and sustainability. We collaborate closely with Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT) teams in North America and internal tech stakeholders across Transportation, Labor Planning, and Finance teams. As part of S&OP, the Planning Automation Modules (PAM) team is currently revolutionizing the way S&OP generate plans, building a dedicated infrastructure to support the S&OP process at a global scale. This includes platforms to run complex optimization models on-demand in a fast and scalable ways. The current version of PAM is already in use in North America and Europe and used to plan inventory flows across more than 300 FCs globally.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and implement scalable models, data solutions, and visualization metrics to enhance S&OP planning automation.

• Maintain and create new data pipelines, establishing single source of truths for operations teams.

• Lead critical process improvement initiatives, leveraging complex models to enhance S&OP planning automation.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.

A day in the life

We are now seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer II to help us scale PAM for worldwide operations. This is a Day 1 opportunity to be part of an entrepreneurial and pioneering team building from the ground up. You will be at the forefront of building models, developing data solutions, and creating new visualization metrics to enhance S&OP activities and drive process automation. You will play a vital role in maintaining and creating new data pipelines and create new models consumed by worldwide S&OP and operation teams. About the team

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

  • Knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

  • Bachelor's Degree in sciences, engineering, finance or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in sciences, engineering, finance or equivalent

  • Experience in Supply Chain Management/Operations Research

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
