Overview
The Business Analyst maintains working functional knowledge of business needs and practices for NYU IT demand and portfolio management systems and processes. Works collaboratively with various NYU IT departments on IT self-managed projects involving the implementation, specification, development, testing, and rollout of new systems and/or system enhancements. Facilitate meetings with IT process owners to gather, validate, and document requirements, analyze processes, and recommend improvements to processes and systems. Develop reports for management. Identify dependencies and implications of change to one or more functional areas affected. Provide comprehensive training and support to users on demand management processes and the project portfolio management tool.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Required Experience:
2+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience with system testing, business requirement definitions, and data analysis.
Preferred Experience:
2+ years of experience in project/program management. PMP certification. Experience working with Smartsheet or similar tool, including configuration. Familiarity with the Google Suite (docs, sheets, slides, etc.). Experience with Visio and other business process workflow diagramming.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong analytical and process improvement skills. Experience with data analysis and reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in presenting across various levels within the organization. Thorough understanding of project lifecycle management processes and Portfolio Management Systems. Thorough understanding of Project and Portfolio management processes specific to the organization. Ability to train and collaborate across the IT organization and at various levels of the organization. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in common office software (Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Excel. etc).
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $76,500.00 to USD $93,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
