What this job involves -
Assists the Senior Facilities Manager/Facilities Manager/Assistant Facilities Manager and Engineering Manager in directing the engineering services operation and maintenance of two assigned buildings. Provides direct support to field operations, performance metric tracking and reporting, implements strategic material acquisition strategies.Your day to day:
Provide guidance and technical support to the team of 4-6 techs throughout the NYC area
Be team expert in General Maintenance repairs and services.
Gather thorough and concise quotes for outsourced work
Communicate clearly and often with Managers
Maintain staffing schedules, timekeeping and performance records for techs and prioritize maintenance projects for the staff
Furnish mechanics with basic data required in effecting overall and long-range planning.
Make recommendations for systems improvement and Capital Projects through immediate supervisor or management.
Furnish the Senior Facilities Manager/Facilities Manager/Assistant Facilities Manager with information relative to criticality of buildings.
Maintain liaison with Facilities Manager/Assistant Facilities Manager regarding work orders, job completion dates and priorities and estimates.
Supports preparation of monthly/quarterly operations reports.
Plan schedule of work in accordance with established priorities.
Coordinate purchasing and inventory control procedures.
Respond effectively to all emergencies.
Perform onsite Quality Assurance inspections of maintained facilities as required

High School degree or equivalent GED (preferred)
4 years of technical and supervisory experience in building engineering with a strong background in technical aspects of repair and building maintenance.
6 years of technical and supervisory experience in building engineering with a strong background in technical aspects of repair and building maintenance, preferred.Experience and technical skills Required
Must have an excellent working knowledge of computer based applications and programs, to include Excel and Word.
Position requires excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
Possess advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude
Candidate will be provided with tools required to perform assigned work scope.
Ability to comply with both Jones Lang LaSalle and client-directed Policies & Procedures.
Familiarity with trade-skills in the following:painting
electrical
mechanical
plumbing
Ability to work in a dog friendly officePosition with overtime potential.
