Meta Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employment - Investigations in New York, New York

Summary:

Meta is seeking an experienced attorney to join its employment law team as an Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employment - Investigations. This position is ideal for an employment attorney looking to continue specializing in internal investigations and who thrives in a collaborative, energizing environment.

Required Skills:

Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employment - Investigations Responsibilities:

  1. Advising on internal investigations into potential misconduct, including assessing risk and partnering with investigators and investigative analysts on strategy, witness interviews, and forensics

  2. Building relationships with relevant stakeholders, including within the employment law team, other investigative teams, the People team, and the business

  3. Recommending disciplinary or other remedial actions based on investigation findings

  4. Participating in close-out meetings with investigators, the People team, and the impacted business

  5. Reviewing investigation debriefs and reports

  6. Assisting in periodic investigation-related reporting

  7. Advising on investigation processes and training programs

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent)

  2. Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)

  3. 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience

  4. Knowledge of federal and applicable local labor and employment laws

  5. Experience both investigating and advising on investigations of employee complaints, including around harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower activity, and other integrity or policy-related concerns

  6. Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills

  7. Effective communication skills

  4. Hands-on worker with demonstrable experience building consensus across teams

  5. Experience leading, managing, or supervising others

Public Compensation:

$198,000/year to $266,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
