Associate Director, Special Situations Analyst

CreditSights is looking for an Analyst to join our U.S. Special Situations team based out of our New York location.

What We Offer:

  • The Analyst will join a small team of experienced publishing analysts and be responsible for supporting the research efforts U.S. Special Situations team. The team's coverage focuses on published research on public and private companies in the high yield and leveraged loan market facing stress, litigation and/or interesting corporate events.


We'll Count on You To:
  • As an Analyst, you will build expertise in the special situations through bottom-up and top-down fundamental credit and industry research. The small team size and wide coverage scope across fundamentals, regulations and legal catalysts will ensure a wide and varied learning experience.
  • You will be responsible for assisting with sector, industry, regulatory and relative value research with a high level of responsibility and the candidate will be expected to make contributions immediately.
  • The candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks related to the research output, including building and maintaining financial models and writing timely and insightful research. The right candidate will also be expected to take on more senior level responsibilities over time, including primary company coverage responsibilities, client interactions and presentations, and lead analyst on industry research pieces; for the right candidate, these additional responsibilities may be immediately considered.


What You Need to Have:

While we are willing to consider any candidate that can demonstrate a high level of competence and motivation, preference will be given to candidates possessing the following qualifications:
  • 4 - 10 years' experience
  • Strong academic background and interest in fundamental research
  • Strong communication skills, ability to write quickly and effectively, and desire to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Familiarity with financial statement analysis and accounting
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, including responding to spontaneous news events, and managing complex data.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite and a range of research tools (Bloomberg, FactSet, S& P Capital IQ, etc.).


What Would Make You Stand Out:
  • Prior experience with special situations and/or publishing
  • Completion or in process of obtaining your CFA
