Responsibilities

The position serves as a key member of the Enterprise Optimization, Logistics & Supply Chain (EOL&SC). This role, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Optimization, Logistics & Supply Chain, is responsible for tactical day-to-day NYBCe Fleet operations, managing vehicle and related assets as well as oversight of the company's third-party Fleet management partner. This role is a key collaborator with internal and external business partners in the development and evolution of a portfolio of vehicle specifications that enables optimal business performance.

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to support the most cost-effective planning, maintenance, and deployment of fleet assets.

    Fleet Management Strategies: Develop and implement fleet management strategies and policies to ensure the smooth operation of the company's fleet department.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Oversee and coordinate the maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles, equipment, and machinery to ensure fleet readiness and minimize downtime.
  • Cost Optimization: Monitor and analyze fleet utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs to identify areas of improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders (suppliers, vendors, regulatory authorities) to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Alignment with Business Objectives: Coordinate with various departments within the organization to ensure fleet operations align with business objectives and requirements. Influence and link improvement objectives to the highest priorities that align with our organization's long-term strategy.
  • Safety Programs:Develop and implement fleet safety programs and policies to promote safe driving practices and reduce accidents.
  • Team Management: Manage and lead a team of fleet supervisors, technicians, and administrative staff, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with industry advancements, technological developments, and regulatory changes related to fleet management. Provide guidance to frame appropriate business challenges, identifying key business opportunities using data and industry knowledge and trends.
  • Fleet Equipment Design:Recommends and initiates mobile fleet equipment design and specification to ensure availability of appropriate equipment to provide direct support to the revenue line operations.
  • Document Management: Manages the administration of legal documents such as registrations, DMV inspections, license plates, titles, insurance cards and other permits.
  • Customer Service Focus: Ensure fleet readiness to meet internal customer demand; Collections, Hospital Services, Lab, etc.
  • Lead and/or partner with business leads on special projects as assigned by Senior Executive leadership.
  • Attends conferences, seminars, as required.
Qualifications

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of fleet management experience.
  • Exceptional knowledge of purchasing, managing vendor/supplier relationships and strategic sourcing.
  • Accomplished in leading and working within a matrix environment, building strong cross-functional and cross-operational relationships.
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organization skills, with persistence and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading without formal authority.
  • Ability to work and think independently, possessing sound problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Responsive and client-service focused.
  • Willingly accepts additional responsibility, challenging tasks, and/or projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

Any combination of education, training and experience that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the job's essential functions.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $125,000.00p/yr. to $135,000.00p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
