Job Duties: Associate, Banker - Industry/Country Coverage with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Support assessment of potential investor reaction to strategic transactions based on investment orientation, the pro forma financial profile, and reaction to precedent deals. Advise on deals involving a public U.S. acquiror or target. Build, develop, and present models, such as overlap and flowback analysis. Estimate the magnitude of investor turnover in an M&A context (including spin-offs and split-offs). Identify new potential sources of investor demand, and following the announcement of an M&A transaction, monitor technical trading and provide clients with real-time updates. Monitor and synthesize data to identify trends across the M&A deal landscape. Support preparation and present analysis of shareholders and predict and interpret technical trading around strategic transactions by synthesizing market feedback from event driven funds, stock price performance, and third-party commentary. Support senior bankers to structure complex transactions, including deals with stock-based consideration that involve M&A collars and/or cash-stock elections. Utilize several of the Firm’s licensed databases and data providers, including Factset, Deal Point Data, and Bloomberg. Leverage information from these databases to obtain market, industry and macro information to process, analyze and present in the form of charts or tables in client books. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field. Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related investment banking role. Prior experience must include two (2) years with: utilizing statistical analysis to interpret data patterns related to M&A and other corporate events; utilizing Factset, Deal Point Data, and Bloomberg to identify relevant transactions and precedent transaction terms; understanding transaction pricing mechanisms and building models utilizing stock price data and option models; interpreting language in merger proxy filings and other deal-related documents to understand deal pricing mechanisms; interpreting technical trading data around strategic transactions; interpreting shareholder data from Refinitiv and Factset; and creating excel models to analyze and predict outcomes in M&A transactions involving M&A collars and cash-stock elections.Job Code: 7743424Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $86,000 - $150,000.
