The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations, the Assistant Director will assist in all aspects of maintaining GSAPP School spaces.

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Operations, the Assistant Director assists with the day-to-day operations of GSAPP's facilities including but not limited to the planning, organizing, and directing the maintenance, repair (routine and non-routine), and alteration of GSAPP buildings and grounds; maintaining visual displays and appearance of GSAPP common/public spaces. Assists the Associate Director with minor punch list items, drilling and mounting fixtures, and lifting and moving furniture.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations, the Assistant Director will assist in all aspects of maintaining GSAPP School spaces.
  • Under the direction of the Associate Director of Operations, the incumbent will assist with the day-to-day operations of GSAPP's facilities including but not limited to the planning, organizing, and directing the maintenance, repair (routine and non-routine), and alteration of GSAPP buildings and grounds; maintaining visual displays and appearance of GSAPP common/public spaces. Assists the Associate Director with minor punch list items, drilling and mounting fixtures, and lifting and moving furniture. (30%)
  • The Assistant Director works closely with Facilities, meeting with staff and faculty to ascertain their needs and coordinating with Facilities through the online ticketing system as well as in-person to organize and streamline said requests, and reviews, and prioritize work orders. (30%)
  • Working closely with the Associate Director, the incumbent will assist with inventory of supplies, purchase orders, storage and delivery of heavy equipment and packages, and other administrative tasks. (20%)
  • Under the direction of the Associate Director, supervises student casual hires. (10%)
  • Perform related other duties as assigned/requested. (10%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent is required. Minimum 3 years related experience.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with students, faculty, and administrators. Must be highly organized and motivated.
  • This position requires an individual with a flexible schedule who is comfortable monitoring after-hours and early morning contractor activity and providing oversight on occasional weekends to meet rigid deadlines.
