Assistant / Associate Professor of Medicine - Department of Medicine at CUMC, Division of Digestive & Liver Diseases

The Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases at Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a full-time transplant hepatologist interested in pursuing a clinical track position. The successful candidate will work in the Center for Liver Disease & Transplantation (CLDT), part of the Abdominal Organ Transplant Division within the Department of Surgery. The candidate should be Board-eligible/certified in Gastroenterology /Hepatology and Transplant Hepatology. Liver transplant experience is preferred but new graduates should feel free to apply.

Responsibilities:

Comprehensive care of patients with hepatobiliary disorders, including pre- and post-transplant care, on-call coverage of Liver service, participation in the education of fellows, residents and medical students; participation in outreach, participation in clinical and/or basic science research, participation in compliance and quality care programs of the University and of the Departments of Medicine and Surgery. Proficiency in liver biopsies and standard endoscopic procedures is required. Clinical interests should include alcohol related liver diseases and end stage liver disease. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and academic qualifications.

Qualifications

* MD degree or equivalent.

* Board certified/board eligible in Gastroenterology /Hepatology and Transplant Hepatology.

* Eligible to be licensed to practice in the States of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

* Successful completion of ACGME approved fellowships in in transplant hepatology and gastroenterology.

* Meet UNOS qualifications as a transplant physician.

* Proficiency and liver biopsies and standard endoscopic procedures.
