We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Strategist to join our Fundamental Equity Team. The successful candidate will work closely with our portfolio management teams to develop and test investment ideas, manage risks, and build robust, risk-managed portfolios in order to drive investment results for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Investment Idea Development and Testing: Collaborate with the portfolio management teams to develop investment ideas. Leverage frameworks provided by our core quant strats and AI strats teams to test these ideas.
  2. Risk Management: Utilize internal and external risk models to generate timely insights for the fundamental equity team. This includes proactive monitoring of risk exposures and analysis of recent returns to improve performance. The goal is to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks before they impact our portfolios.
  3. Portfolio Construction: Assist in building robust, risk-managed portfolios that integrate the best stock level ideas with client needs. This involves managing factor, thematic, sector, and other risks in the portfolios to ensure they align with our clients' investment objectives and risk tolerance.

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding background in a quantitative discipline (eg mathematics, physics, engineering or computer science at PhD or advanced Masters level)
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience with fundamental equity research / equity valuation a plus
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a fundamental equity environment.
  • Programming expertise (e.g. C++, Python, R, Matlab)
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of financial markets and investment strategies.
  • Experience in statistics, data science, machine learning and/or predictive modelling.
  • Proficiency in risk modeling and portfolio construction.
  • Strong general and technical communication skills, with an ability to effectively articulate complex financial and mathematical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong team player, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams across the organization.
  • Experience with alternative data sources a plus
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
