Job Summary

As an Associate in the Private Equity Secondary Group, you will engage broadly in various areas of private equity, but primarily focus on secondaries and contribute to all aspects of the secondary deal process. You will develop and share their thoughtful opinion and thrive in an entrepreneurial, collaborative, low-ego culture with high volume and fluid structure.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deal sourcing, screening, and conducting due diligence on private equity secondary transactions, leveraging the team's robust GP network and broader private capital network

  • Participate in evaluation and analysis of secondary transactions and assets across stages (i.e. buyout, venture, growth equity, etc.), industries and geographies

  • Work with outside groups, such as fund managers, management teams, investment bankers, as well as internally across groups to perform due diligence and execute transactions

  • Prepare and present due diligence materials and investment committee memos

  • Construct an opinion around various investment opportunities and efficiently communicate it both verbally and in written materials

  • Manage relationships with private equity sponsors, intermediaries, advisors (financial, legal, commercial) and other investors

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 1+ years of private equity (secondaries, buyout, special sits, etc.) or other relevant experience

  • Experience interacting with secondary brokers- must have good interpersonal skills

  • Strong technical ability to evaluate, underwrite, and execute on secondary transactions

  • Strong modelling, Excel, and presentation skills

  • Proven track record in executing and completing successful private equity deals

  • Strong sense of risk/reward trade-offs, and an ability to display sound investment judgement

  • Self-starter with ability think creatively when evaluating and progressing opportunities

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate and present ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Capable of multi-tasking, with strong attention to detail

  • Promote and demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude, with desire to develop

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • CFA and/or MBA a plus, but not a requirement

  • Experience operating within a small team a plus
