Actalent Asbestos Or Lead Inspector in New York, New York

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asbestos/Lead Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asbestos and lead inspection, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field. The successful candidate will be certified by the EPA as an Asbestos Inspector and Lead Inspector, with a proven track record of accurately identifying and reporting asbestos and lead-based hazards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct asbestos and lead inspections in accordance with OSHA and EPA regulations

  • Identify and document asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) and lead-based paint in buildings

  • Collect air samples and/or wipe samples to determine airborne asbestos levels

  • Use specialized equipment to detect and quantify lead-based paint

  • Develop detailed reports summarizing inspection findings, including photos and diagrams

  • Communicate with clients and project stakeholders regarding inspection results and recommendations

  • Collaborate with project managers to develop remediation plans for ACMs and lead-based paint

  • Maintain accurate records and databases of inspections, samples, and reports

Requirements:

  • EPA Lead Inspector Certification (40-hour training course)

  • EPA Asbestos Inspector Certification (training course or equivalent experience)

  • 1+ year of experience as an asbestos/lead inspector

  • Strong understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations related to asbestos and lead

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with industrial hygiene or environmental sampling techniques

  • Familiarity with building construction practices and materials science

  • Proficiency in computer software applications, such as report writing software
