Supportive housing - affordable housing paired with services designed to help people maintain their homes for the long-term - is widely recognized as a proven and cost-effective solution to chronic homelessness.

But we didn't stop at providing housing. Breaking Ground's programs and services help people experiencing street homelessness - especially those who have been on the streets the longest - to come indoors. Through our Street to Home outreach program and transitional housing resources, we help people get, and stay, on the path to a permanent home.

Reporting to the Vice President, Programs, t he Administrative Assistant is the main point of contact for the 12 th floor administrative office s for Programs and Property Management . Th e Administrative Assistant is responsible for basic bookkeeping includ ing petty cash, check requisitions, billing, and processing c heck r equest v ouchers for company credit card accounts. The Administrative Assistant schedul es the 12 th floor conference room, schedul es meetings, maintai ns filing systems, and manag es o ffice mail and general inquiries . The Administrative Assistant helps to coordinate and set up staff events and meetings.

This is a position on-site, Monday-Friday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer telephon e, tak e messages , and direct calls

  • Manage walk-ins , direct people to the appropriate Breaking Ground building s , program s , or service s

  • Maintain and manage staff calendars for senior leadership in Programs, Property Ma nagement, and A sset M anagement

  • Compose, type, and edit correspondence, reports, memoranda and other material s

  • Manage invoices, check requests , credit card reconciliations

  • Track and order supplies

  • Coordinate events

  • Provide coverage for the 5 th floor reception desk as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in administrative support or related position required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams required

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Must have strong written and verbal skills
