Growing New York City organization is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist based in New York, New York. In this role, you will be handling the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments and maintaining relevant financial documentation. This role is key to the smooth financial operations of our business and requires someone with a strong understanding of accounts payable procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Manage full cycle accounts payable process ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.

• Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.

• Manage vendor communications, ensuring a positive and professional company representation.

• Coordinate with the Purchasing department to reconcile purchase orders and invoices.

• Assist in month-end closing procedures by preparing accounts payable related analysis.

• Maintain accurate and organized vendor files for future reference.

• Prepare and perform check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.

  Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years' experience in accounts payable role.

• Prior work experience within consumer products industry.

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.

• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).

• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
