Job Description
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office is seeking a well-qualified staff whose diverse backgrounds contribute to serve the 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community and to pursue a safer Bronx through fair justice. The Bronx County District Attorney’s Office has an opening for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Assistant who is responsible to issue payments and to record vendor payments and review staff expense reimbursements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bail Bond Forfeiture Statements Quarterly
Provide payments for Expedited Records
Process Court Reporter (CR) Payments in FMS system
Enter CR and Concourse Payments in GP system
Execute payments through NYC’s FMS central accounting system
Issue paper checks using Microsoft GP accounting application
Record payments in the GP system, including managing digital images of invoices
Communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff
Accurately and promptly execute office payments
Maintain ledgers, payment files, and other A/P records, both in digital and hardcopy format
Assist A/P Assistants, when necessary.
All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate Degree or a High School diploma/GED and two year's accounts payable or finance experience
Strong math skills and data entry skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with commercial accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics GP and QuickBooks a plus.
Ability to work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a discreet manner.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment, and initiative.
Excellent customer service skills Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Qualifications
Qualification Requirements
High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
