Robert Half Accounting Manager in New York, New York

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity in the credit union industry located in New York, New York, for an Accounting Manager. In this role, you will be deeply involved in managing the preparation and analysis of financial reports, overseeing the general ledger system, and assisting with various projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the monthly closing of the general ledger and prepare monthly Board results reporting and analyses.

• Prepare and submit the Quarterly NCUA 5300 call report.

• Handle the preparation of monthly adjusting journal entries for the balance sheet and income statements.

• Execute departmental expense analyses and collaborate with other departments in explaining variances.

• Record investments and loan income into the general ledger and budget, forecast, and track all revenue.

• Review the suspense accounts and resolve all outstanding items.

• Oversee the protection of the business assets and ensure that proper internal control and segregation of duties are in place.

• Prepare the annual budget and forecasting for non-interest income and expense.

• Assist with external auditors for year-end audits and with bank regulators.

• Contribute to special projects or other functions that may be assigned.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements • Must have a comprehensive understanding of the Banking Industry

• Proficient knowledge of Credit Union Policy is essential

• Familiarity with Federal Credit Union regulations is required

• Experience with KCT Credit Union will be advantageous

• Must possess strong skills in Corporate Accounting

• Understanding of NCUA rules and regulations is necessary

• Demonstrable leadership skills and experience in managing a team

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential

• Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required

• Professional accounting certification, such as CPA or CMA, is preferred

• Previous experience in a similar role within a credit union or financial institution is desirable

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and accounting software

• High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
