The Weissman School houses 13 academic departments and offers more than 30 undergraduate majors and 50 liberal arts and interdisciplinary minors. The Associate Dean’s office administers these academic programs, manages block programming and registration for more than 2,600 first-year students as well as all continuing students in liberal arts programs and courses, and oversees student academic progress toward graduation, including through the creation and maintenance of special programs to support student success.

Reporting to the Weissman Associate Dean, the Data Analysis and Assessment Coordinator will:

  • Serves as query support manager to run queries in CUNYFirst (a PeopleSoft tool) and write queries as needed.

  • Assists with analyzing data and producing reports on student records, enrollment patterns in programs and courses, and related topics.

  • Helps design and support a system for new student enrollment and block programming, including the creation and maintenance of databases for the Weissman Director of Scheduling, Registration, and Enrollment Data Management, and tracks enrollment to ensure seat availability in required courses.

  • Helps prepare reports and statistical data for major and minor programs, student advisement, and other needs.

  • Reports results related to recruitment, admissions, retention, academic enrichment, student outcomes, and strategic planning for the Dean, Associate Dean, and other stakeholders.

  • Compiles current and historical data on enrollment and course outcomes to assist the Dean in scheduling decisions.

  • Supports data collection for assessment reports, as needed.

  • Liaises with the school assessment manager and Office of the Assistant Provost for Assessment, Accreditation, and Institutional Effectiveness to coordinate communication between academic departments undergoing program review and assessment, the Weissman Dean’s Office, and the College; to and to help maintain and update the School’s Assessment calendar.

  • Provides staff support for the Associate Dean’s Office, responding to student questions about programs, course scheduling, and enrollment, fielding faculty and staff inquiries, and directing them to the Associate Dean as needed.

  • Responds to ad hoc requests for information from colleagues in the Dean’s Office and Associate Dean’s Office about academic programs, enrollment, and assessment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analysis, statistics, computer science, information management, or other relevant fields is highly desirable.

  • 1-2 years of SQL programming experience.

  • Experience working with PeopleSoft, Tableau, Excel, MySQL or similar database management system, and SPSS or other statistical package.

  • Experience in quantitative methods, enrollment management, student services, and strategic planning and familiarity with assessment software a plus.

  • Two years of related experience

  • Evidence of experience with assessment, data management, and/or programming.

  • Supports the directors and managers with orientation preparation, student advisement regarding program requirements, and providing basic information about financial aid and registration

  • Manages office records including faculty files; prepares reports and surveys; collects and maintains statistical data on program activities

  • Serves as liaison to various College offices to provide service delivery and appropriate referrals to students

  • Collects and reviews syllabi to ensure compliance with standards

  • Serves as resource person for students and faculty regarding program policies and procedures

  • May supervise office operations and/or monitor department budget

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$65,946- $75,131; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
