WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Senior Director of Growth Marketing, you will play an integral role in creating the National Kidney Foundation’s growth marketing tactics and long-term vision. You will collaborate with the senior marketing team to drive traffic, engagement, and conversations that increase revenue and NKF brand awareness through paid and content marketing. As the leader of the growth marketing team, you will combine technical acumen with people management and horizontal collaboration skills to deliver consistent growth support across NKF’s portfolio of content and products.

Perform wide-ranging content management to ensure an increase of NKF brand recognition and kidney disease awareness.

  • Lead paid and content marketing verticals under the broader digital marketing team.
  • Create and manage an integrated growth marketing plan, inclusive of paid and content marketing that supports and extends marketing initiatives and aligns with organizational priorities.
  • Direct marketing fulfillment and operations for NKF’s portfolio of brands, including Kidney Cars, Kidney Real Estate, Transplants for All, Kidney Equity for All™, and incipient projects.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Development team in fulfillment of partner integrations, driving brand consistency, campaign analytics, and deliverable fulfillment. Includes contract writing, iteration, campaign budget development, and direct collaboration with partner organizations.
  • Direct and implement the organization’s advertising and promotional activities to optimize NKF’s media mix to maximize scale and return; testing new channels and markets to unlock growth.
  • Spearhead implementation of organization-wide SEO best practices, including search intent matching, on-page optimization, and link structure to facilitate top-line growth across patient and professional audiences. Provide strategic direction to Kidney Learning Solutions team on content gap.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to iterate on and expand content governance practice to ensure the freshness, integrity, and quality of our content, including training and advising internal content producers.
  • Data-driven with a strong understanding of complex product and marketing metrics and modern marketing tools.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications leadership to introduce NKF to new audiences.
  • Collaborate with Web Services and Donor Development to understand paid performance and unlock additional opportunities to scale.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Development and Kidney Learning Solutions teams to provide direction and optimize sponsored content, as well as help establish content classification and taxonomy.
  • Audit existing content to maximize user experience, readability, and conversions. Streamline content voice, style, and quality. Collaborate with the Creative Services and Web Development teams.
  • Oversee content development for Kidney.org and other digital assets; optimize content for search and user experience.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our various constituents to craft content that addresses their individual needs.
  • Collaborate with VP, Digital Marketing to identify audience needs and content gaps, measuring and optimizing paths to conversion.
  • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar encompassing various NKF verticals; define format and audience for each content piece.
  • Develop a 360° attribution and reporting system, including collaboration with cross-functional senior leadership in development of KPIs to maximize organizational effectiveness.
  • Editorial requirements include SEO best practices, content categorization, structure, segmentation, content development and reading level adjustment.
  • Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
  • Perform additional duties, as required.

WHAT YOU’LL POSSESS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of work-related experience growing companies in a fast-paced business or not-for-profit environment.
  • Experience working in a health agency is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time-management and organizational skills.
  • Must be assertive, confident and project a positive presence.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for NKF’s mission.

Must have unimpeachable integrity and trustworthiness while possessing a high degree of tact, discretion, and professionalism. Verbal and written communication skills will be used daily. Maintain effectiveness under pressure. Competency in use of a multiple-line telephone, computer, photocopier, and other standard office equipment. Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed. Available for overnight business travel. Must have a valid driver’s license.
