Allied World Insurance Company Project Manager, Business Operations, Global Product & Solutions Development Group in New York City, New York

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a strong candidate with project management and leadership skills to join our Business Operations team. The position requires strong management, interpersonal, and people leadership skills with an interest in utilization and introduction of new technology solutions. The Project Manager evaluates business processes, determines risk, and provides guidance to Allied Worlds Underwriting team and external partners. The Project Manager works with cross functional teams to provide clear and accurate directions from Legal, Compliance, Actuarial, IT, and Underwriting in product delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage new program/product implementation across multi- functional disciplines and external partners.

  • Evaluate current business processes, anticipating requirements. Uncovering areas for improvement and developing cross-functional solutions.
  • Works with business leads & CUO team to recommend and finalize standardized operating procedures.
  • Address Underwriting requirement issues, external party questions, or technological risks to mitigate impact to timeline. Recognize and escalate issues that occur during project execution.
  • Responsible for stakeholder accountability and project timeline. Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
  • Report on project metrics including progress, resource utilization, risks and issues.
  • Facilitate meetings and handle appointment-scheduling. Interfacing with all levels of internal resources within the organization including UW, IT, Actuarial, Legal & Compliance, Reinsurance, Finance and Claims and requiring the ability to communicate issues clearly and effectively.
  • Coordinate with IT on IT-specific milestones as it relates to product implementation and maintenance.
  • Coordinate product development activities internally with the business as well as external partners.
  • Generate, update, maintain and distribute documents (i.e., project plans/schedules, procedure and process workflow documentation, training manuals, and meeting materials) to business stakeholders.
  • Participate as needed to support Enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing and provide sign off.
