Gulf Coast Trades Center (GCTC) is a private, non-profit educational institution dedicated to improving the economic independence and social well-being of disadvantaged and adjudicated youth. GCTC provides male youth ages 15-18 with a comprehensive program of education, counseling, job referrals, residential and community services. This matrix of services is provided by our dedicated staff in a “no fail” atmosphere, which emphasized the worth of each individual.

What you will do:

The Shift Supervisor is a member of the Site Management Team. Primarily responsible for the daily management and supervisory control of Group Living operations under the supervision of the Director of Group Living and/or Program Director. Ensures ROP programs are being implemented in accordance with ROP policies and procedures and Federal, State and Local licensing requirements. This position must have full and direct supervision of a minimum of two full-time employees.

To be considered you should:

  • Be empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public/Business Administration, Behavior Science, Counseling, Secondary Education, Health, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Social/Human Services OR any equivalent combination numbers of years’ experience, education and/or training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Military experience and training is acceptable.

  • Three (3) years of experience in a juvenile treatment (Residential, Behavioral, Dentition, Corrections, etc.) Related and/or equivalent experience may be substituted with approval.

  • One (1) year supervisory experience.

  • Current Staff in this position must have completed Tech 22 and ROP Essential Subjects Training in Operations, Treatment and Human Resources. Outside applicant selected must complete this same training within 6 months of hire date.

  • Must meet all individual state specific licensing requirements in addition to ROP requirements regarding education and experience.

  • Have a desire to work with troubled teens.

  • Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
