Actalent Engineering Technician in New Ulm, Minnesota

Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining internal process documentation, writing change orders and deviations, and utilizing SolidWorks software for tooling and fixtures. This role involves executing development builds, gathering and providing technical data for reviews, utilizing key production processes and materials, and performing dimensional characterization using inspection criteria. The candidate will also assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming products, and gathering requirements to ensure complete and correct revisions. Additional tasks include creating bill of materials and routes, and inspecting and testing products.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain internal process documentation

  • Write change orders and deviations

  • Utilize SolidWorks software for tooling and fixtures

  • Execute development builds

  • Gather and provide technical data for technical reviews

  • Utilize key production processes and materials

  • Execute dimensional characterization using inspection criteria

  • Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming products

  • Assist in requirements gathering ensuring complete and correct revisions

  • Assist in the creation of bill of materials and routes

  • Assist in the inspection and testing of products

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical and manufacturing experience

  • Engineering technician skills

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Knowledge of electronics and electrical systems

  • Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office

  • Understanding of engineering concepts and applications such as statistical and scientific tools

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to identify technical problems and execute solutions using a systematic problem-solving approach

  • Effective work relationship development with internal customers

  • Understanding and following the company's quality system and documentation practices

  • Understanding customer requirements and product needs

  • 2-year degree in a technical field or equivalent industrial/technical experience

Work Environment

The work environment involves industrial manufacturing settings, specifically in mechanical, electrical, and electronic areas. The role requires familiarity with various production processes and the use of SolidWorks software. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with internal teams and adhere to the company's quality systems and documentation practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
