JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

As a member of an agile development team, the Business Analyst will define, plan, track, and report on the progress of platform enhancements Entergy’s ServiceNow platform. The BA is reliable, capable of writing user stories, planning sprints and releases, and can lead all agile ceremonies. The track and communicate progress, and escalate to leadership as necessary. They use their familiarity with IT systems and the utilities business to lead conversations and gather requirements for their scrum team. They may also draw on user experience or quality assurance experience to build durable systems that delight their customers.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Has ownership and oversight of their user story backlog, for which they define, refine, plan, and prioritize with the help of the multi-disciplinary scrum team.

  • Supports creating the overall roadmap and shapes demand for enterprise platform consumption by directly interfacing with end-users, stakeholders, and process owners and helping to document desired business outcomes, identifying solutions, and verifying that project deadlines and objectives are met.

  • Lead all scrum ceremonies to achieve the desired outcome; use Agile/Scrum practices to facilitate the growth of a highly effective team.

  • Maximizes value by identifying additional business outcomes the platform allows.

  • Work as a part of a team of ServiceNow engineers, developers, QAs, and architects to deliver platform enhancements.

  • Support Organizational Change Management and Continual Service Improvement initiatives

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education and experience required of the position.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business related field and 3+ years of relevant experience is required, or in lieu of a degree 6+ years of relevant experience is required.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • Solid analytic and problem-solving skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Agile Scrum Master experience working with development teams.

  • Ability to interface with team members at all levels, including business operations, technology, and management. Especially with regards to coaching, influencing, and gap analysis.

  • Product backlog understanding, definition, and management.

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • ServiceNow Experience is desired

  • 3+ Years working as a scrum master, business analyst, or similar for an enterprise platform.

  • Understanding of design thinking techniques including Persona's, Journey Maps, and Business Model Canvas

  • Hands-on experience in the software product development and tracking process and their related governance

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position

  • Any ServiceNow, Certified Scrum Master, or ITIL certifications are a plus.
