Exotic Automation & Supply Lead Material Handler - 3rd Shift in New Hudson, Michigan

General Summary:

Responsible for leading and performing a variety of general warehouse duties.  Responsibilities include, but not limited to, receiving product, locating product, pulling orders and manifesting orders to customers.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Knowledge of all job functions within the department which include receiving, picking, consolidating, manifesting, hose assembly and Breadman routes.

  • Responsible for processes involved in the shipping and receiving of goods.

  • Assists with directing and guiding warehouse staff.

  • Assists with training of warehouse team members across multiple functions of the warehouse.

  • Awareness of packaging, inspecting, routing and labeling procedures within the warehouse.

  • Responsible for monitoring warehouse supply levels, inventory control and daily cycle counts.

  • Ability to complete carrier supplied documentation.

  • Accountable for maintaining the work area in a clean and orderly manner.

  • Enforces compliance for ISO-9001 quality standards and OSHA safety standards.

  • Ability to drive and operate a hi-lo.

  • Ensures warehouse area, equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and kept clean.

  • Able to follow written or oral instructions regarding daily tasks and job duties.

  • Demonstrate leadership by setting a positive example.

    Supplemental Job Functions:

  • When necessary, assist with the following tasks:

  • Monitoring attendance and punctuality of team.

  • Managing the day-to-day functions of the warehouse including r eceiving, stocking, picking, packing, quality control, shipping, logistics, transportation, delivery, inventory control, and cycle counting.

  • Addressing any presented issues or concerns and implementing corrective actions.

  • Managing disciplinary situations.

  • Annual team member reviews.

  • Evaluation and hiring process of potential candidates.

  • Building opening and closing procedures.

  • Responsible for obtaining cross-functional training within the warehouse.

  • Provides and supports a positive work environment.

  • Awareness of the profitability of the company and the goals and objectives set forth by the Board of Directors.

  • Participates in corporate on-boarding and orientation programs.

  • First aid training that includes CPR, bloodborne pathogens and AED.

  • Maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Minimum one (1) year of warehousing experience preferred.

  • Previous hi-lo experience.

  • Ability to use a computer for basic tasks.

  • Strong self-discipline and ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time throughout the day.

  • Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures.

  • Ability to bend/lift and/or carry weight to industry standards.

  • Organizational skills required to prioritize, plan and coordinate work activities and resources in area of responsibility.

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with associates, customers, business partners and management team. 

  • Ensuring compliance with Company Safety Policies and OSHA requirements.

  • Ensuring proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all associates during shift times.

  • Demonstrates teamwork approach to all tasks.

    Working Conditions:

  • Normal warehousing environment with regular (up to 100% of work time) exposure to noise, dust, office equipment and supplies. 

  • Physical dexterity to bend, stretch, lift and reach.

  • Exposure to temperatures: hot and cold.

    Compensation:

  • Grade 11
