Job Title: Line Mechanic/Line Lead

Job Description

The Line Mechanic plays an important role in maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Industrial Mechanic to utilize their expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, troubleshooting, fabrication, and light machining disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Use safety devices and protective equipment, employing safe work practices and methods in the operation of all tools and equipment.

  • Maintain, install, and repair electrical/electromechanical and mechanical component systems for concrete masonry plant equipment.

  • Read blueprints and schematics.

  • Weld and fabricate as needed.

  • Promote and work towards a team environment.

  • Operate motor vehicles and mobile equipment including man lift, forklift, and skid steer safely.

  • Plan work effectively and keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to reduce unnecessary downtime.

  • Report or correct any hazardous conditions affecting employees and contractors.

  • Collaborate with maintenance department and manufacturing personnel to minimize downtime and maximize quality and productivity.

  • Assess issues during breakdowns, communicate with equipment operators, and apply troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to repair equipment efficiently.

  • Perform building and grounds maintenance.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and preventative/corrective maintenance skills.

  • Experience with machine operation and mechanical troubleshooting.

  • Hydraulic repair and machine rebuilding.

  • Knowledge of 3-phase electrical systems and pneumatics.

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

  • Welding and fabrication skills.

  • Thorough understanding of electrical/electromechanical maintenance methods.

  • Knowledge of safety rules related to mechanical and electrical work.

  • Skilled in using hand tools, testing equipment, and safely installing new and replacement parts.

  • Basic computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to respond to emergency calls after normal working hours.

  • Willingness to work extended hours to meet production demands.

  • Physical capability to walk, sit, bend, stoop, and lift a minimum of 90 pounds.

  • Ability to work at heights using aerial lifts, stepladders, and extension ladders.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Holland, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $32.00
